Paris by Foot: Latin Quarter to the Arc, for sure this route should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Paris.
The Latin Quarter is very popular and has a special atmosphere, as well as a convenient location.
Setting up base in the Latin Quarter means you're in the perfect spot to start exploring Paris on foot. If you take the walk from there up to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées, it’s a truly great way to experience the city.
The most direct walking route is about 5 km/3.11 miles and takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes of steady walking. So you'll head north from the Latin Quarter to the Seine, cross the river, pass the Louvre, and walk through the Jardin des Tuileries straight to the enormous Place de la Concorde. From there, you simply walk up the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe.
On your way, especially as you approach Place de la Concorde, you’ll be able to see the beautiful architecture of the Petit Palais and Grand Palais as well, they are close to each other and are actually located on the road after the square at the beginning of the Champs Elysees. How much you see along the way really just depends on how much you love to walk and how much time you have to wander! If you're walking more slowly, taking pictures, and enjoying the view, plan on a couple more hours, for a total of 4-5 hours.
Enjoy your walk. If you have any questions, please write in the comments, or if you've already completed this route, let me know how you liked it. 🙂
